Meeting the Mandates requires four key functions:
- The ability to generate and manage proper EPC and/or DoD numbers
- Printing labels correctly
- Associate item tags to cases and cases to pallets
- Provide RFID tag data to be sent via VIM/ASAP
|
- EPC & DoD Numbers – CP Express for C&T properly generates and manages both EPC and DoD numbers and won’t repeat them, because they are tracked in the database. Don’t be fooled into thinking an RFID printer generates these numbers…you need software to create them and a database to assure you track them.
- Printing labels is easy since CP Express for C&T comes complete with templates from DoD suppliers, plus a label design package to customize them to your requirements. The operator can choose label formats for SGTIN, SSCC (mixed pallets) or DoD.
- Associate item level tags to ensure the proper items are packed correctly, with the correct count, and RFID tag IDs associated with the correct case tag.
- VIM/ASAP interface imports contract data and order detail into CP Express for C&Tfor use by the system. Once all the tags are printed and associated, CP Express for C&T uploads the detailed RFID tag data to VIM/ASAP.
